About
Gween Bean Whatchu Mean or GBWM is a forced brainrot meme based on a reaction image of a Spore creature of anthropomorphic green bean dancing under the caption, "Gween bean whatchu meaaaaan." While the original video dates to at least 2018, the meme was started by TikToker @smallarmrants at the end of December 2025 in an attempt to make it the last meme of the year before the Great Meme Reset of 2026. It began to spread on the app over the following days, leading into January 2026.
Origin
On December 30th, 2025, TikToker[1] smallarmrants posted a video where he explains that the Great Meme Reset is coming, but before then, he wants to end the meme on a "good note" with a non-brainrot meme. He then shares an animation of an anthropomorphic green bean creature in Spore dancing under the text, "gween bean whatchu meaaaaan." He encourages viewers to share the image of the green bean as a reaction image and way to say, "Whatchu mean?" The video gained over 3.7 million views in three days.
The dancing green bean was first made available as a GIF on Tenor[2] on January 27th, 2018. A video using this gif was uploaded to Youtube on February 2nd 2018 titled "green bean dances to dont mess with my man by nivea" which only gained roughly 2,000 views in seven years [5].
