The original video was posted to TikTok by user @meechdawg4 in early September 2025. The clip's audio became a viral TikTok sound, and the man was used as an exploitable in edits and green screens. It also spread to Twitter / X as a reaction video in the following days. Some called him the "March Madness Unc," using the AAVE slang term "unc," a shortened version of "uncle."

On September 3rd, 2025, TikToker^[1] @meechdawg4 shared a video of an older man outside, passionately rapping "March Madness" by Future.^[2] The man's wearing a blue Chicago Cubs shirt and a Nike hat. The lyrics he chose included, "I drive the foreign like it was a Chevy." Over five days, the video received over 3 million likes.

On September 3rd, 2025, TikToker^[3] @fucclo used the original video's TikTok sound,^[4] showing himself presumably playing the NBA video game NBA 2K with a POV about, "How yo center feel after shooting 1/7 (he hit the game winner)." Over five days, the video received over 73,100 likes.

Also on September 3rd, TikToker^[5] @rrjjxt posted a video of himself lip-dubbing the song with the caption, "When people not appreciating the song you playing enough so you gotta start breaking it down for them," gaining over 56,300 likes in five days.

On September 4th, 2025, Twitter / X ^[6] @JozuJoestar tweeted, "I DRIVE THE FOREIGN LIKE IT WAS A CHEVY," and then quote-tweeted the post, attaching the March Madness Unc video. @JozuJoestar captioned it, "Unc felt this shit in his soul," gaining over 14,000 likes in four days.

On September 5th, TikToker^[7] @.man6ion posted an edit using the March Madness Unc clip and the original Future song. Over three days, the edit received over 312,500 likes.

On September 7th, 2025, TikToker^[8] @yugiohcardmemes posted a Yu-Gi-Oh! meme, showing a "trap card" called "March Madness" with the man in the frame and the description, "When activated Future take over your body to perform 'March Madness'. You gain the ability to take all your opponent's 'hoes' leaving your opponent helpless." The video received over 72,000 likes in a day.
