Gun Family Silencer is a series of three-panel exploitable webcomics featuring a family of humans with guns for heads. In the first panel, the child gun says something from the back seat of the family car. However, by the third panel, the child is seen with a silencer, implying that the gun parents forced him to be quiet.

Origin

On January 21st, 2014, Sunny Street[1] comics published a comic of a family of gun-headed humans on a drive. In the backseat, a child gun repeatedly asks, "Are we there yet?" In the second panel, the parents look at the child. Finally, be the comic's end, the child is seen with silencer on its face. When posted to Facebook that day, the comic received more than 90 reactions and 15 shares in four years.

Spread

On August 10th, 2017, the original comic was shared on Imgur by user Capinron. Within six months, the image received more than 6,100 points and 247,000 views. The following week, Redditor [4] nuclearunclear posted the comic to the /r/memes subreddit, where it received more than 8,300 points (92% upvoted) and 90 comments. On January 10th, 2018, the comic was shared again on the subreddit /r/funny by PandaLeagueIGG, receiving more than 5,600 points (88% upvoted) and 130 points.

Less than two weeks later, variations of the comic began appearing on the subreddits /r/MemeEconomy and /r/dankmemes. On January 22nd, Redditor[6] Valiance_Gamer posted a version where the child is saying "MBDTF isn't the best album of all time" (shown below, left) in the /r/MemeEconomy subreddit.

That day, Redditor[7] gur5h posted a variant in the /r/dankmemes subreddit where in which the child says, "9gag lowkey dank tho." The post (shown below, center) received more than 4,000 points (95% upvoted) and 80 comments. When shared on /r/MemeEconomy[8] later that day, the image received more than 31,000 points (85% upvoted) and 345 comments.

Redditor[9] TCECallofDuty posted a variation where the child says "This sub has a unhealthy problem of binging and cycling through meme formats to the point where they die in a day that you blame on a influx of 'normies' and 'gay mods' but in reality this problem started because of you retards whoring for internet points and you need to fucking stop." The post (shown below, right) received more than 5,100 points and (96% upvoted) and 80 comments.
