Gulp Gulp Gulp refers to a meme and TikTok sound effect taken from a cupcakKe song called "Moonwalk" that resembles the sound of oral sex on a male partner (blowjob). In 2022, after a sped-up version of the sound was created in CapCut, meme creators used it and inserted it into many videos. It was predominantly used in Roblox Story Time videos that used Subway Surfers gameplay footage as a background.

Origin

On May 31st, 2021, capcakKe released a single titled, "Moonwalk," which was uploaded to YouTube on the same day by the channel CupcakKe Klan, earning roughly 382,600 views in a year and a half. At the 0:55-minute mark (shown below), capcakKe uses her voice to make an adlib that resembles gulping, in reference to oral sex on a male partner.

On March 6th, 2022, TikToker^[1] cupcakkeslurp posted a CapCut edit of capcakKe's gulping adlib, repeating it and speeding it up with each repeat. Over the course of six months, the video received roughly 2.3 million plays and 145,100 likes (shown below).

Spread

TikTokers began using the "Gulp Gulp Gulp" sound thereafter, predominantly using cupcakkeslurp's sound^[2] which amassed roughly 45,800 videos over the course of six months. One of the first creators to use the sound was TikToker^[3] itisjamarmar on March 27th, 2022, who used it to make a joke about sixth graders making sex jokes. Over the course of six months, the video received roughly 3.1 million plays and 476,500 likes (shown below, left). On March 29th, 2022, TikToker^[4] doknee used the sound to represent his lust for the other men on the bus he was on, earning roughly 980,900 plays and 163,200 likes in six months (shown below, right).

"Gulp Gulp Gulp" in Roblox Story Times / Subway Surfers

In June 2022, "sus" Roblox Story Time creators started using the sound effect in videos to represent oral sex taking place in a way that avoided NSFW bans. One of the earliest examples of this was posted by TikToker^[5] rblxz.strz on June 9th, 2022, earning roughly 126,800 plays and 2,600 likes in three months (shown below, left). Their video also used Subway Surfers gameplay as a background for visual stimulation. On June 28th, 2022, TikToker^[6] assax_story referenced the Gulp Gup Gulp sound in a video that received roughly 4.9 million plays and 303,100 likes in three months (shown below, right).
