The original video shows @itshaileymayy spraying something on her face while wearing a blue strapless top and sitting at her vanity desk as she says, Get ready with me to hang out with fine shyt," which is slang for "attractive person." Hailey Mayy then briefly spazzes out, rolling her eyes back and doing a beligerent full-body shake. She then goes on to describe her date as Thomas, a character from the young adult novel and movie Maze Runner, and reveals a photo of Dylan O'Brien at the end of the video. Several TikTokers posted videos mimicking and mocking @itshaileymayy's video in late May 2025, calling their videos 99% Accuracy Reenactments.

On May 19th, 2025, TikToker^[1] @itshaileymayy posted a video wearing a blue strapless top and hairclips. The video begins with Hailey saying, "Get ready with me to hang out with fine shyt," after which she lets out a yell and starts jumping up and down in her chair. She then says that it's her first time "hanging out with someone that's a guy in a romantic way." She continues, saying that they are going on a little walk and that he said he's going to take her "through a maze." At the end of the video, she reveals that her date is Dylan O'Brien, star of the Maze Runner movie.

The video gathered over 30 million views and 2 million likes in two weeks.
