Grunkle Stunkle Wins The Funkle Bunkle refers to memes and jokes about a line from a YouTube Poop edit that shows Grunkle Stan from Gravity Falls saying "Grunkle Stunkle wins the Funkle Bunkle." The original YTP edit was posted by Crash Matilda in 2017 and subsequently re-uploaded by various YouTube users after Crash Matilda privated many of her videos. In 2024, Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch replied to a post on X, writing, "This reminds me of that time when Grunkle Stunkle won the Funkle Bunkle."

Origin

YouTube Crash Matilda uploaded the original YTP edit containing the clip of Grunkle Stan saying "Grunkle Stunkle wins the Funkle Bunkle." The line does not actually appear in any Gravity Falls episode, and appears to be stitched together using parts of his own name.

YouTuber^[1] Crash Matilda Reuploads reposted the YTP on January 28th, 2020, saying that the original 2017 video was inaccessible since Crash Matilda set her account to private. The reupload gathered over 12,000 likes in four years (seen below).

The original scene comes from Season 1 Episode 14 of Alex Hirsch's show Gravity Falls, titled "Bottomless Pit!" The scene shows Grunkle Stan recounting the time he "won the football bowl."^[2]

The X^[4] account @grunklestunkle began posting the same clip of Grunkle Stan saying "Grunkle Stunkle wins the funkle bunkle" starting on August 30th, 2024. On September 30th, 2024, X^[5] user Alex Hirsch replied to a @grunklestunkle post, writing, "This reminds me of that time when Grunkle Stunkle won the Funkle Bunkle," and gathering over 42,000 likes in two days (seen below).
