"Great Job Jeremy" are words of encouragement directed at Sony Senior Producer Jeremy Ray by Zindagi Games President Umrao Mayer during a demonstration of the game Medieval Moves: Deadmund's Quest at the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

Origin

On June 6th, 2011, Sony demoed the video game Medieval Moves: Deadmund's Quest for the Playstation Move motion-sensing game controller platform at the E3 conference. During the presentation, Zindagi Games President Umrao Mayer repeatedly gave demonstrator Jeremy Ray various words of encouragement, including "nice shot, Jeremy," "Great job, Jeremy" and "Good job, Jeremy" (shown below).

Immediately following the broadcast, Redditor lawliver submitted a rage comic to the /r/gaming^[2] subreddit, featuring the harp darp rage face with the caption "Great job Jeremy" (shown below, left). Prior to being archived, the post received upwards of 1,390 up votes and 120 comments. The same day, Redditor Flamecube submitted a post titled "Jeremy, GREAT JOB" to the /r/gaming^[3] subreddit, highlighting a photograph of President Barack Obama with the caption "Great job, Jeremy" (shown below, right).

Also on June 6th, YouTuber TheTrueHaddock uploaded a video titled "The E3 Song (Great Job Jeremy)," featuring clips of Ray presenting the game accompanied by an electronic dance music track with Mayer's encouraging words edited in (shown below).

On June 7th, 2011, the video game website IGN posted a montage video titled "Great job Jeremy!" on their Facebook^[1] page, featuring clips of Mayer congratulating Ray during the presentation (shown below). In the following two years, the post gained over 330 likes and 100 comments.
