Gray Cabbit refers to a specific image of a gray cat-rabbit hybrid with green eyes. The picture appears to be that of a bunny with a cat's face edited onto it. The doctored image was created by Instagram artist @koty_vezde, who often posts photoshopped images of cat-animal hybrids. In subsequent years, the image came to be associated with the phrase "I be cooling bra idc bout nun."

Instagram[1] user and cat-animal hybrid images poster @koty_vezde first posted an image of a gray cat-rabbit hybrid on November 28th, 2019, gathering over 16,000 likes in five years.
The image was reposted to Reddit's /r/HybridAnimals[2] by Redditor /u/naiviveidna on December 7th, 2019, where it gathered over 1,000 upvotes on a post captioned, "cabbit."
Spread
On November 28th, 2021, iFunny[3] user Grand_Sensei_Dareth reposted the image with the text, "Post This Cunny When They Least Expect It," gathering over 22 smiles in three years.
In January 2022, a slightly transformed version of the Cabbit alongside the text "I be coolin bra idc bout nun" began making the rounds online.
It is unclear where the image was first posted, however, it can be traced as far back as January 12th, 2022, when it was used as a track cover for Soundcloud[4] artist jaconons's song. On January 13th, X[5] user @fkdupinthecrib reposted the image to X / Twitter.
The earliest known notable repost of the meme was a January 20th, 2022, post by X[6] user @earth2dot, who quoted an image of another bunny-cat hybrid with the caption, "I be coolin bra idc bout nun," gathering over 46,000 likes in two years.
On June 15th, 2024, Tumblr[7] user @rottingfacade posted a Let There Be Ants meme that gathered over 3,000 notes in three months
On September 10th, 2024, X[8] user @FlyingLiam1125 posted an image of a crying cabbit with the caption, "My art teacher walked behind me and looked over my shoulder while I was just staring at this image on my phone with tears in my eyes." The post gathered over 97,000 likes in two days.
