About

Gordon Ramsay Slang is a TikTok meme trend in which videos of chef Gordon Ramsay criticizing people's dishes as part of his Ramsay Reacts series, using very specific insults and double entendres, are detached from their context and represented as new slang terms, often abbreviated for casual usage. The trend was popularized in June 2025, with the first example, SMYW, kicking the trend off, inspiring further terms like SPWYS, YBMW and more.

Origin

On June 7th, 2025, TikToker[1] @mrmcflop posted an AI-generated image of Gordon Ramsay as rapper Lazer Dim 700 in the SYBAU 💔 meme, the text edited to read, "SMYW 💔." The post received over 250 likes in three weeks. The post inspired numerous memes throughout June 2025, both using the slang term SMYW and featuring Gordon Ramsay saying the phrase.

Later that month, TikTokers began taking other Gordon Ramsay videos and painting the specific insults spoken in them as new slang terms.

One of the earliest known examples was posted by TikToker[2] @willstaa on June 20th, who shared a video of Ramsay yelling, "You've burnt my weiner!" garnering over 1.8 million views in a week.

Spread

The trend continued to spread in late June 2025. On June 21st, 2025, TikToker[3] @binglymingly81 posted a version of the meme abbreviating the phrase "Stop playing with your sausage" to "SPWYS," garnering over 4.6 million views in six days.

On June 22nd, TikToker[4] @b4ng1ng posted a version of the trend in which the slang term represented is "SMAWYLBB," meaning "Stop messing around with your lettuce, big boy," garnering over 1.1 million views in five days.

As the trend continued, TikTokers started leaving long lists of all the Gordon Ramsay slang so far as comments under related videos.

Also on June 22nd, 2025, TikToker[5] @irankthingstt posted a video in which they rank several examples of the trend, garnering over 880,000 views in five days.

SMYW

SMYW is a slang acronym for Show Me Your Willy, which was said by British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay in a viral video posted to TikTok in late 2024. The video was a part of his Ramsay Reacts series of TikTok Duets. The term SMYW riffs on similar, precursor abbreviations like SYBAU and SYFM. SMYW memes notably went viral on TikTok in June 2025.
