Good Shit is an emoji spam paragraph which repeats the phrase "good shit" in a paragraph surrounded by various emojis and positive phrases.

Origin

On May 24th, 2015, Tumblr user wunkolo^[1] posted a spam paragraph beginning with the message “birds that bob their head back and forth and peep really fast when they fly away,“ followed by a series of emojis and the phrase "good shit good shit" (shown below). Within five months, the post gained over 12,400 notes.

Spread

On June 2nd, the Meme Documentation^[6] Tumblr blog published a explanation of the "good shit meme." On June 8th, Tumblr user roumanian^[2] posted a variation of the spam paragraph using the phrase "bad shit" (shown below). Within five months, the post received upwards of 25,900 notes.

On July 18th, Tumblr user juuzousissues^[5] posted a examples of several different "good shit variations," receiving more than 143,000 notes in the next four months (shown below).

On August 21st, Tumblr user an-tichrist^[3] posted a spam paragraph with the phrase "alien shit" (shown below, left). On August 27th, Tumblr user traeken^[4] posted a variation with the phrase "spooky shit" (shown below, right). Within three months, the posts gained over 73,000 and 48,000 notes respectively.
