About

Goo Goo Gaga Santa Claus, also known as Goo Goo Ga Ga Santa, Googoo Gaga Santa, Gugu Gaga Santa or Goo Goo Gaa Gaa Chocolate Santa, refers to a series of viral videos and memes that depict a misshapen aluminum foil wrapper for a chocolate Santa Claus bar that's typically made to look creepy and unsettling. TikToker marie.stm created the original Goo Goo Gaga Santa in early January 2026.

The memes typically depict the chocolate Santa wrapper contorted to have twisted, slender arms and legs, with it acting like a monster that suddenly crawls up on beds and rushes the camera as a man saying, "Goo goo ga ga," is heard in the background. The creations people made using the candy Santa wrappers continued to get more elaborate as the trend spread on platforms like TikTok and YouTube in January 2026.

Origin

The original Goo Goo Gaga Santa video was posted by TikToker[1] marie.stm on January 5th, 2026, which depicted a chocolate Santa Claus candy bar wrapper that was twisted and deformed to make skinny arms, making it appear as if it rapidly crawled on all fours up on their bed at night and stopped just before the camera.

The post notably used the "Goo Goo Gaga" sound on TikTok[2] from user icyjackz and received over 90.2 million views, 11.7 million likes, 85,000 comments and 4.4 million shares in 10 days.

The sound used in the original Goo Goo Ga Ga Santa video, as well as others that followed it, comes from an AI video made using Sora that depicts a night-vision camera of the late NBA star Kobe Bryant sitting in a crib wearing a baby outfit while saying, "Goo goo ga ga," and looking into the camera.

On October 24th, 2025, TikTok[3] user icyjackz uploaded the AI-generated clip to the site, garnering over 450,000 likes and 7,800 comments in roughly three months.
