Godzilla and Hatsune Miku refers to crossover fan art and memes depicting Godzilla and Hatsune Miku together, often as friends but sometimes battling one another. Content featuring both characters has been uploaded online since as early as 2012, with the two officially crossing over several times throughout the 2010s and 2020s.

Crossover Godzilla and Hatsune Miku content saw a boost in virality in late November and early December 2025 after the two featured alongside one another in a scene for Fortnite's "Zero Hour Event," where Miku combines her Miku Miku Beam with Godzilla's atomic breath beam.

Origin

The earliest known piece of content depicting Hatsune Miku and Godzilla together is an animation posted by YouTuber[1] MMDCharizard on December 1st, 2012, titled "Vocaloid meets Godzilla," garnering over 44,000 views in 13 years.



On January 26th, 2017, YouTuber[2] Karin's Channel posted an animation set to a song called "Gigantic Girl" in which Miku and Godzilla fight. At the end, they are seen posing together and waving at the camera, marking the first known piece of content featuring the two as friends. The video gained over 66,000 views in eight years.

Content featuring Hatsune Miku and Godzilla became increasingly popularized over the following years, with content featuring the two as friends rather than enemies becoming more common.

In the December 27th, 2019, anime film Shinkalion the Movie: Godspeed ALFA-X That Comes from the Future, Godzilla appeared and briefly fought Hatsune Miku, marking the first official crossover between the two characters.[3]



On October 14th, 2023, Newgrounds[4] user GENC posted a piece of art showing Miku sitting calmly on top of Godzilla's head, gaining over 1,900 views and 200 favorites in two years.

On November 19th, 2024, Miku and Godzilla were announced as DLC characters for the game Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble through a trailer on the SEGA YouTube[5] channel, gaining over 55,000 views in a year.



On November 20th, X[6] user @cmarshallartz posted a piece of fan art in response to the Super Monkey Ball DLC announcement showing Godzilla and Miku shaking hands, garnering over 17,000 likes and 3,000 reposts in a year.



On January 21st, 2025, X[7] user @pkblitz posted a piece of artwork showing Miku combining her "Miku beam" with Godzilla's atomic breath, Miku standing on Godzilla's head, garnering over 120,000 likes and 18,000 reposts in 11 months.



Fortnite Zero Hour Event

On November 29th, 2025, Fortnite's Zero Hour Event took place, which saw a massive crossover of characters band together to fight a giant boss enemy.[8] At one point during the event, Miku can be seen combining her beam power with Godzilla's beam, similarly to the artwork by @pkblitz.

This scene was posted by X[9] user @ehebai on November 29th, 2025, garnering over 100,000 likes and 2.6 million views in two days.


Later that day, X[10] user @kaijugamer2000 made a post compiling examples of the times that Miku and Godzilla officially crossed over, writing, "Godzilla and Hatsune miku always together," garnering over 3,600 likes in two days.
