Go Little Dude Go!! is an exploitable three-panel webcomic by artist soup-erb in which a crowd of men cheer on a subject refered to as "little dude" in the first panel, a group of women call the subject "handsome" in the second panel and the subject, often a small, dancing character from a given fandom, is revealed in the third panel. The comic was fist posted to X, formerly Twitter, in May 2022 and became the subject of photoshops and redraws replacing the character in the third panel over the following months, seeing a notable resurgence in popularity in November 2023.
Origin
On May 2nd, 2022, X[1] user and artist @its_soup, aka soup-erb, posted an original comic in which a crowd of men and women cheer on a "little dude" and call him handsome, revealing in the last panel that the "little dude" in question is the cringe ass nae nae baby, garnering over 162,000 likes and 25,000 reposts in a year (shown below).
The meme became the subject of redraws and photoshops that day in the comments and quote-reposts. For example, on that day, X[2][3] users @BigGarfFan37 and @Siwius posted edits of the meme in the comments, garnering over 600 and 100 likes respectively in a year (shown below, left and right).
Spread
The meme continued to inspire new variations over the following months. On May 2nd, 2022, X[4] user @skystreamchan posted a redraw of the meme featuring Valorant characters, garnering over 6,000 likes in a year (shown below).
On June 7th, Tumblr[5] user thy-flesh-consumed420 posted a version of the meme featuring a crab in the third panel, garnering over 25,000 notes in a year (shown below, left). On December 27th, iFunny[6] user Nickdafunnyman posted a version of the meme referencing Minecraft, garnering over 1,000 smiles in a 11 months (shown below, right).
In November 2023, the meme saw a resurgence in popularity on X, largely through the quote-reposts of the original comic's post. For example, on November 2nd and 5th, 2023, X[7][8] users @sharkology_art and @Get2DaChopra posted versions of the meme referencing Spider-Man and Wolverine from X-Men respectively, garnering over 4,300 and 2,700 likes in five days (shown below, left and right).
