Go Demarcus refers to a viral amateur music video featuring a young boy singing to a young girl in a playground.
Origin
On March 29th, 2008, YouTube user MsJuliaBurks uploaded the original music video entitled "D Weezy." The video gained over 8,075,800 views and 66,000 likes in 11 years (shown below).
Spread
On March 3rd, 2016 Prince Brundall uploaded a remix of the boy's song to YouTube entitled "Go Demarcus – My Lips, My Stare (Remix) ft. Brundall525." The video gained over 43,000 views and 800 likes in three years (shown below, left). Many people began uploading parodies to YouTube. On February 25th, 2017, YouTube user Shay Powell uploaded a parody (shown below, right).
TikTok Parodies
A clip of the music video's sound was uploaded to Tik Tok under the name "original sound – capitainpunch" and has been used in over 200,000 videos as of February 4th, 2019.
On January 9th, 2019, YouTuber bape master uploaded a Tik Tok parody of "Go Demarcus." The video gained over 2,000 views in a month (shown below, left). On January 22nd, YouTuber LilRicaGaming and Things posted another parody which gained 200 views in a few weeks (shown below, right).
