Girl Kissing Guy Against Fence or How Guys Who X Kiss Their Girl is a series of image macros using a photo of a woman holding a man up against a fence while kissing him passionately. The image is used alongside ironic captions about emasculated men and first became the subject of memes in 2018, later becoming the source for redraws.

Origin

On May 26th, 2018, Facebook^[1] page Savagery posted an image macro using an image of a man being pinned up against a chainlink fence by a woman with the two kissing passionately, captioned, "We Don't Ask For Much But It'd Be Nice If Women Tried To Take Care Of Us More," gaining over 1,100 reactions and 150 shares in four years (shown below). This is the earliest known meme using the image.

On May 30th, 2018, a Russian version of the meme captioned "when she pays for you" was posted to yaplakal.^[2] On July 31st, the Worldstar Hip Hop Facebook^[3] page posted a version of the meme captioned, "Guys that listen to Drake all day end up like this," gaining over 37,000 reactions and 33,000 shares in four years (shown below).

On November 18th, 2018, Imgur^[7] user @4KingCrazy posted an alternative version of the meme using a similar photo of a white couple kissing against a fence, originally posted by now-deleted Instagram page sepasanmemes, gaining over 10,000 views and 300 upvotes in just over three years (shown below).

On February 13th, 2019, Twitter^[4] user @levislaking posted the image, writing, "Ladies kissing their men goodbye before they go to the Men's conference…" gaining over 300 likes in three years. On January 24th, 2020, Tumblr^[11] user bifey posted a compilation of images with similar vibes, including the image. On February 19th, Twitter^[6] user @champagnemikee posted the image captioned, "when she likes all my pictures and dms me first," gaining over 43,000 likes and 8,700 retweets in three years (shown below, left). On February 27th, 2020, Instagarm^[5] user davie_dave posted a version of the meme captioned, "How guys who order boneless wings and an angry orchard at buffalo wild wings end up," gaining over 2,000 likes in two years (shown below, right).

On May 6th, Redditor Wood-e posted a version of the meme using the white couple to r/gatekeeping,^[8] gaining over 18,000 upvotes in two years. On May 14th, Joe Rogan posted a version of the meme to Instagram^[9] and Facebook^[10] captioned, "Dudes that wear face masks when they're driving," referencing the COVID-19 pandemic, gaining over 676,000 likes on the former and 51,000 reactions and 16,000 shares on the latter in two years (shown below). On June 10th, Tumblr^[12] user madnesswithasideofsanity posted a compilation of similar images, gaining over 110,000 notes in two years.

The image has also inspired various redraws. On October 26th, 2020, Tumblr^[13] user soaptaculart posted a redraw of the couple as Ace Attorney characters, gaining over 4,000 notes in two years (shown below, left). On February 10th, 2021, Tumblr^[14] user dazeddoodles posted a version of the meme using Avatar The Last Airbender characters, gaining over 780 notes in a year (shown below, right).
