Giants' Milk refers to a series of jokes and memes about a monologue by the character Tormund Giantsbane on the series Game of Thrones. During the episode "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms", Tormund explains that a giants' breast milk is responsible for his large size.

Origin

On April 21st, 2019, HBO aired the Game of Thrones episode "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" in the United States.^[1] During the episode, Tormund (portrayed by Kristofer Hivju) explained how grew in size (clip below). He said, "I killed a giant when I was 10. Then I climbed right into bed with his wife. When she woke up, you know what she did? Suckled me at her teat for three months. Thought I was her baby. That’s how I got so strong: giant’s milk."

Following the episode, people began posting jokes and memes about Tormund's beverage of choice. For example, Redditor ^[2] sandiercy posted a parody Got Milk ad with the character. The post received more than 295 points (85% upvoted) in one week (shown below, left).

Over the next week, others shared variations of memes using the episode's content to make jokes. For example, Twitter ^[3] user @dedatarkenaam posted an Epic Handshake meme using the episode (shown below, center). Others just made image macros using photographs of the cast (shown below, right).
