Giantess Mercy

Giantess Mercy is a character customization of the Overwatch hero character Mercy. Following the news of the size customization update in the Overwatch Workshop in mid-July, Twitter users and macrophiles began fetishizing a large-scale Mercy.

Origin

On July 15th, 2020, following Blizzard's Overwatch Workshop updates announcement,^[6] Twitter user @Niandra_^[1] tweeted images of an over-sized Mercy captioned, "The new PTR update adds an option to the workshop where you can scale player size, meaning your fantasy of being crushed under the toes of a 20ft Mercy can come true" (shown below). The tweet gained over 3,300 likes and 700 retweets in two days.

Spread

On July 15th, 2020, Many Twitter users began responding to the update. Twitter user @andygmb posted a video example that gained over 1,400 likes in two days (shown below). Redditor MoiraIsMyWaifu posted the tweet to r/OverwatchCircleJerk^[2] saying, "You can now scale players in Overwatch. GIANT MERCY FEET HERE WE COME."

That same day, Twitter user @LukioOW^[3] tweeted, "I can't wait until the overwatch workshop update so I dont have to go into incognito mode to see giant mercy" (shown below, left). Twitter user @yowaterisntwet^[4] commented over @Niandra_'s initial tweet with an image of Mercy's enlarged feet (shown below, right). The reply gained over 50 likes in two days. The Daily Dot^[5] published an article on fetishized reactions to the update.
