About

Giant Baby refers to a viral TikTok video of a toddler in a diaper bouncing on his father's back and giggling. When the video spread to Twitter, it led to a wave of people commenting that they were repulsed by the video.

Origin

On April 19th, 2020, TikTok user kat.027[1] posted a video of her son, Gav, bouncing on her father's belly. The video gained over 7 million views on TikTok in less than two days (shown below).

Spread

On April 20th, the video began spreading on Twitter after user @DuckAlertsNOW[2] reposted the video with the caption, "is anyone else just absolutely REPULSED by this giant baby," gaining over 27,000 retweets and 241,000 likes (shown below).

As the tweet spread, many Twitter users agreed that they were repulsed by the baby. User @BAKKOOON[3] tweeted, "why is there steam emanating from the huge baby. is it smoking, about to explode. really upsetting video," gaining over 240 likes (the "steam" is baby powder). PixelatedBoat joked, "Everyone else is too much of a coward so I’m stepping up. I will fight the giant baby," gaining over 160 retweets and 2,300 likes[4] (shown below, right).
