George Was Filming the Whole Time refers to a series of fake quotes in which actors from the Star Wars prequels reveal that director George Lucas filmed certain scenes by accident by keeping the cameras rolling outside of the takes.

On January 8th, 2019, Redditor[1] Robloxloverboi posted a captioned image of actor Hayden Christensen to /r/PrequelMemes subreddit. In the fake quote, the actor revealed that the infamous scene from Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith in which Anakin Skywalker kills the Younglings was captured by accident when George Lucas was filming outside of the takes.

Thank God for Hayden Christensen It actually wasn't George's idea to have Anakin kill the Younglings. ljust showed up on set one day and started to whack those little f------. Turns out, George was filming the whole time.

Starting on January 8th, 2019, /r/PrequelMemes users posted several other posts copying this format titled "Bless you, [name of the actor]". Redditor[2] Totallyn0tAcake posted a captioned image of actor Ewan McGregor saying that the scene of the duel between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi was filmed by accident. In another post by Redditor[3] jamesyounggg, actor Ian McDiarmid stated that he lunged at Samuel L Jackson in a 720 degree spin after the latter "called him a bitch on set".

In the following days, more posts implying that famous scenes from the Star Wars prequels were filmed when George Lucas accidentally caught them on camera were posted in the /r/PrequelMemes subreddit.
