Garfield Dancing to Happy (also known as Garfield Dancing or Garfield Dancing to Happy by Pharell Williams) is a poorly animated, six second long video of Garfield the Cat dancing to "Happy" by Pharell Williams.

Origin

The source of the meme originated in a video posted on December 4th, 2007. The video, titled "Colin's Bear Animation", consists of a 15 second clip of a poorly modelled 3D bear preforming various dance moves. The video is accompanied with the track "Funkey Monkey Dance" from the game Mother 3.

Garfield the Cat

The next variation of the meme originated in a short video titled "12/20/1996" (shown below), uploaded by Youtube channel "lasagnacat" on February 23rd, 2017. The second half of the video includes the aforementioned bear animation, with the 3D bear model now substituted for a 3D model of Garfield the Cat.

"Happy" by Pharell Williams

On June 5th, 2019, Youtube user Kemdizzle uploaded a trimmed clip from the "12/20/1996" video to his Youtube and Twitter accounts, which consisted of the dancing Garfield clip. He then overlaid the song "Happy" by Pharell Williams.

As of November 2020, the Youtube version (shown below, on the top) has garnered 267,000 views, while the Twitter version (shown below, on the bottom) has garnered over 9,000 views and 921 likes.
