The creature was first posted by TikToker @ofuscabreno in early February 2025, the same TikToker who created other AI brainrot animals like Boneca Ambalabu and Brr Brr Patapim. The character garnered notable virality throughout March and early April 2025 alongside other AI brainrot animals.

Origin

On February 9th, 2025, TikToker^[1] @ofuscabreno posted a meme consisting of an AI-generated image of a camel-fridge hybrid wearing what appears to be Timberland boots, garnering over 2.5 million views in two months. As the video plays, a text-to-speech narration discusses the anomaly. The monologue roughly translates^[2] to:

Frigo Camello, funny burden. In the heart of the city between cars and heat a fridge camel walks with love. With giant boots and a slow step, he has lost joy, he has lost the moment. "It's cold in here," he says without a smile. "But in the desert, there is no more paradise. Milk and butter now disorganized." He continues alone, more tired, through Rome, Paris, Madrid and Milan. Everyone says, "What sadness, what despair." Under the hot and burning sun the fridge melts and he keeps going, sad and suffering. Frigo Camello, submerged and lost with his load, heads toward a suffering fate from Lisbon to Florence without hope. His long journey without any reward, and now in London everything is heavier, with tired eyes, already unnoticed.

On February 25th, the official TikTok^[4] account for the football club SSC Napoli, @sscnapoli, posted a meme using a version of Frigo Camelo branded with their logo, garnering over 340,000 views in just over a month.

On March 12th, 2025, TikToker^[5] @fishy.ai posted a video that uses AI to imagine a fight between Frigo Camelo and another AI animal, Boneca Ambalabu, garnering over 811,000 views in a month.
