Four Words Every Girl Wants Whispered In Her Ear refers to parodies of an image macro that shows a couple holding each other with the title words over the image in Impact font. In May of 2018, the image spread on Twitter with joke four-word captions.

Origin

The image used in the meme is a stock photo posted to Shutterstock in January of 2014[1] (shown below).



The impact font meme began spreading on Twitter starting on May 6th, 2018. One of the earliest known posts to use the image was tweeted by user @HylandIan[2] and gained 28 likes (shown below).



Spread

Over the course of the following few days, the image spread across Twitter as users posted various parodies. Some popular examples include a joke referencing Lift Yourself posted by @danielradosh that gained over 1,600 retweets and 7,400 likes (shown below, left). User @troughofluxury posted a It's Free Real Estate joke that gained 8,800 retweets and 23,000 likes (shown below, right).



The jokes were covered by Twitter Moments,[3] Daily Dot,[4] and Mashable.[5] Other popular jokes with the image were posted by @datboidrewskii that referenced Black Panther and gained over 1,100 retweets (shown below, left). Twitter user @finryan87 posted a joke that gained over 580 retweets (shown below, right).
