Floyd Mayweather's Money Table refers to a photograph of professional boxer Floyd Mayweather sitting at a table which is completely covered with stacks of one hundred dollar bills. Since early 2021 the photograph has appeared in a variety of memes, most notably as a part of If Hating X Was a Job meme format, and has been used as a reaction image online.

Origin

On June 4th, 2019, former professional boxer Floyd Mayweather posted a photograph of himself sitting at a table completely covered with stacks of one hundred US dollar bills (shown below). The image, accompanied by a message directed at those who criticized Mayweather's lifestyle, received over 1.9 million views on Instagram[1] and 99,000 reactions and 11,000 shares on Facebook[2] in four years.

The image has appeared in memes online at least since early 2021, initially being used in conjunction with the If Hating X Was a Job meme format. On January 10th, 2021, Redditor thatstarwarsfan2 reposted the earliest discovered meme based on the format in the /r/memeeconomy[3] subreddit (author unknown, shown below, left). The earliest derivative memes based on the format were posted later that month: for example, on January 27th, 2021, an unknown Redditor posted a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure version of the meme that received over 970 upvotes in the /r/ShitPostCrusaders[4] subreddit (shown below, right).

On February 28th, 2021, Redditor CrankyEagle posted a comparison meme that received over 20,600 upvotes in the /r/memes[5] subreddit in two years (shown below).

The image saw more use both as a part of the Me If X as a Job meme format and other memes in the following years: for example, on December 30th, 2021, X[6] user @stxxboy2 posted a meme that received over 5,700 reposts and 25,000 likes in two years (shown below, left). On July 5th, 2023, X[7] user @kbwizrd posted a meme that gained over 1,300 reposts and 15,000 likes in five months (shown below, right).
