About

The Flight Pattern Recognition Meme, also known as Flight Losslikes, Flight Loss Meme or Shocked Flight Reaction Image, refers to an exploitable trend based on a two-panel reaction image meme of streamer FlightReacts, also known as Flight, looking at his computer screen and then turning to look at the viewer with his eyes wide open, expressing that he's shocked.

The image was used en masse in TikTok comment sections in 2025. As it spread, meme creators rapidly devolved the meme into simpler and minimalist forms, relying on the viewer's pattern recognition. Prominent examples include a clay sculpture version, a hand-drawn version and a blank version that only shows the vertical dividing line between the meme's two panels. Overall, the base form was one straight line on the left side and a slightly tilted line descending from left to right on the right side. The trend falls under the category of Losslikes based on the Loss meme.

Origin

On May 6th, 2024, TikToker[1] @bluntreacts shared a clip of FlightReacts reacting to a clip of IShowSpeed talking about science. In the clip, Flight is seen looking shocked at his screen and then at the viewer. Over one year, the video received over 235,600 likes.

Flight's shocked reaction in the video later became the source of the Flight Pattern Recognition Meme. The two-panel screenshot was commented on the abovementioned video as early as August 26th, 2025, by user @korbinbustle13. The image's origin is most likely from a precursor comment section on a currently unknown viral TikTok post.

Also, Flight's background in the two-panel image is different from the blank black background in the original clip. The background, showing a pink and red lighted room, was seemingly added by an unknown "Flight clips" channel. The same background can be seen in a Flight video from TikToker[2] @onlyftc, shared on August 16th, 2025.

Spread

Heading into September 2025, the Shocked Flight Reaction Image spread in TikTok comment sections as a reaction image. During that timeframe, others on TikTok started devolving the meme into simpler forms.

Two of the most prominent variations were a hand-drawn pencil drawing and photos of a clay mold. It's currently unknown which TikTok comment section each image comes from.

By late September 2025, several of the images had saturated TikTok comment sections, becoming increasingly devoid of Flight's original likeness. For instance, an iteration of two lines, meant to represent Flight's posture in each panel, surfaced on the app. It's currently unknown who posted the image first.

On September 26th, 2025, TikToker[3] @ethan_brando made a video calling out the trend and expressed appreciation for the "deterioration." Over four days, his video on the topic gained over 37,500 likes.

On September 27th, TikToker[4] @gnom2949 posted a video slideshow that compiled several of the images. The description called it "pattern recognition." Over three days, the video received over 161,700 likes.

On September 29th, 2025, TikToker[5] @idkwhoami4451 posted a similar video compilation showing several of the Flight Pattern Recognition Memes thus far, paired with a text overlay caption that read, "Funniest meme in a while." In a day, the video received over 71,500 likes.
