First Crush

First Crush refers to an exploitable webcomic where a trio are hanging out discussing the first celebrity they had strong romantic feelings for. The first two offer common choices in "Bruce Willis" and "Britney Spears," while the third one awkwardly thinks of an embarrassing character. That character is changed in the exploitables.

Origin

The original comic was posted by user Blueballs on Furaffinity^[1] on September 15th, 2013. In the original comic, the third character thinks of WereGarumon from the Digimon series.

Spread

The same day, the comic was reposted to /r/Digimon, where it gained over 170 upvotes.^[2] It was reposted again over a year later to /r/furry.^[3] Shortly after the original comic was posted, exploitable variations began seeing use. Two edits were posted to Memecenter by user risefire (shown below).

On March 6th, 2016, the original comic was posted to /r/CringeAnarchy.^[4] In the comments, user hedorah3 posted a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure gaining 230 upvotes (shown below, left). On July 15th, 2017, the Facebook meme page "I'm gonna hurt a fly and listen to Built to Spill"^[5] made an In the Aeroplane Over the Sea joke which gained over 320 likes and reactions.

The comic continued to see use over the following several years. On March 7th, 2018, an edit featuring the Grandpa from Yu-Gi-Oh was posted to /r/MemeEconomy, gaining 290 upvotes (shown below, left). A version featuring Lola Bunny from Space Jam was uploaded in February of 2018 to Imgur, gaining 35 upvotes (shown below, right).
