#FilmStruck is a Twitter hashtag in which people share "four films that define" them. This is usually done in list form or through pictures.

Origin

On April 17th, 2018, the Twitter[1] account for the video streaming subscription service Film Struck tweeted, "We want to celebrate the personal nature of cinema and fill your timeline with the films that define you. Pick 4 films and then tag 4 friends to do the same! #FilmStruck4 We're tagging: @rianjohnson @Lilfilm @ava @RichardSHarmon." They also posted in image that reads, "Define yourself in 4 films #FilmStruck4." The post (shown below) received more than 630 retweets and 2,200 likes in two days.

Shortly after, Star Wars: The Last Jedi-director Rian Johnson responded,[2] "Brazil 8 1/2 Ghostbusters Raging Bull Wait though, if these defined me I’d be a pretty messed up person, can we use another word? @walrusmaster @alinebmckenna @TedMGriffin @GPBmadeit." The post (shown below, left) received more than 60 retweets and 700 likes in 24 hours.

That day, actor Richard Harmon tweeted,[3] "Don’t mind if I do. Harvey (1950) A Christmas Carol (1951) One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (1975) The Big Lebowski (1998)." The post (shown below, center) received more than 30 retweets and 360 likes in two days.

Additionally, actor Jonah Hill tweeted,[4] "Challenge accepted @filmstruck! Four films that define me are: King Of Comedy The Master This is England Ratcatcher #FilmStruck4." Within two days, the post (shown below, right) received more than 190 retweets and 2,100 likes.

That day, Twitter[5] published a Moments page on the hashtag.

That day, Twitter[6] user @EpicNameBro tweeted, "I don't watch movies, so I can't do the whole "what 4 films define you" thing. But I can do games! Final Fantasy Tactics Demon's Souls Cave Story Vanilla WoW How about you?" The post (shown below) received more than 80 retweets and 785 likes in two days.

Throughout the day, people posted games under the hashtag #GameStruck4.

The following day, Twitter[7] published a Moments page about the hashtag.
