Fiesta Chicken Nugget

About

Fiesta Chicken Nugget is a song from a 2011 Indonesian commercial campaign for the chicken nugget brand Fiesta. In early 2023, a viral video on TikTok in which a man named Javierstoyy (@javierstoy2.0) sang the song with the camera close to his face and the flash on was widely spread online. The video led to others singing the song, as well as multiple memes on the platform that later spread to YouTube in which meme creators treated him like an exploitable by inserting him into different templates and adding a white top caption to him that object labeled him.

Origin

In the early 2010s, the Indonesian brand Fiesta launched a TV ad campaign for its chicken nuggets and created a jingle to be used in the commercials. On September 1st, 2011, YouTuber^[1] Kaylafood uploaded one of the commercials in which the "Fiesta Chicken Nugget" song is used, earning roughly 7,400 views in 11 years (shown below).

On August 14th, 2021, TikToker^[2] @rahman_alif06 then posted a video of a yellow dinosaur with headphones dancing to the "Fiesta Chicken Nugget" jingle, using the video as a meme template with a separate image inserted over it. Over the course of two years, the video received roughly 2.9 million plays and 324,700 likes (shown below).

Spread

Going into 2021, various Indonesian meme creators used the aforementioned format, going viral in their own right. For instance, on August 20th, 2021, TikToker^[3] @wbii25_ posted a "Fiesta Chicken Nugget" meme, gaining roughly 3.1 million plays and 324,700 likes in two years (shown below).

On February 13th, 2023, TikToker^[4] @javierstoy2.0 posted a video in which he sang the "Fiesta Chicken Nugget" song. Over the course of one month, the video received roughly 9.4 million plays and 707,200 likes (shown below, left). Also on February 13th, 2023, TikToker^[5] @acrdnr posted a video in which he sang "Fiesta Chicken Nugget," gaining roughly 5 million plays and 485,500 likes (shown below, right).

More Indonesian TikTokers started to sing the song in their own videos going into February 2023. For instance, on February 20th, 2023, TikToker^[6] @ucansaymezatihhhhhhhh posted a video, gaining roughly 428,400 plays and 28,200 likes in one month (shown below, left). Going into March 2023, creators on the platform started to use the TikTok^[7] sound of @javierstoy2.0's video and insert him into templates with a top caption. For instance, on March 1st, TikToker^[8] @jokerftmlbb posted a video, earning roughly 1.2 million plays and 75,600 likes in one month (shown below, right).

The trend soon spread to YouTube, present in a video uploaded by YouTuber^[9] Kimy one on March 5th, 2023, which earned roughly 14,900 views in three weeks (shown below).
