Fein Fein Fein refers to a series of video memes based on a viral video of a group of white boys singing Playboi Carti's verse on Travis Scott's song "FE!N" in which he repeats the word "Fein!" The male voice in the concert video, however, sounded odd and drew comparisons to Elvis Presley, among other characters with deep voices. The original video was posted to TikTok in mid-2024, leading to memes and parodies in the following months.

Origin

On July 12th, 2024, TikToker^[1] @jimmy02_ posted a video of him and his friends at a Travis Scott concert singing along to the chorus of his song "FE!N"^[2] in which Playboi Carti repeats, "Fein, fein, fein, fein." @jimmy02_ wrote, "Remember to stop singing when you're recording at a concert," and the boys are heard singing the chorus. In a month, the video amassed over 36.3 million plays and 7.2 million likes (shown below).

In the following days, many joked about the boys singing, "FE!N," such as TikToker^[3] @run3_g on July 17th, 2024, who shared a Red Circle Perpetrators meme that likened the voices of the boys to Elvis Presley, gaining over 5.6 million plays and 1.1 million likes in a month (shown below).

On July 19th, TikToker^[4] @anaamicus posted a similar video that compared the voices of the boys to Plankton, Jack Black and Perfect Cell, gaining over 2.4 million plays and 366,200 likes in a month (shown below).

On July 21st, 2024, TikToker^[5] @barbiegruesome posted a video with the original video's sound, showing drawings of Plankton and Elvis Presley singing the song, receiving over 656,900 plays and 85,000 likes in a month (shown below).

Memetic references to the video continued in August 2024. For instance, on August 19th, TikToker^[6] @konkurskueen6 posted a video in which she asked her viewers if they remembered the video, gaining over 2.3 million plays and 578,800 likes in nine days (shown below).
