About

Fake Celebrity Scam Messages refers to screenshots and photoshops of fake DMs and text messages that appear to have been sent by celebrities looking for money or a piece of personal information from the message recipient. Many of the memes feature the celebrity repeating a notable catchphrase attributed to them in a second message sent after the scam attempt as if to prove they're real. One of the earliest examples of the meme is a scam by rapper DaBaby posted to Reddit in 2021, becoming an increasingly popular format over the following years.
