Fagottino Prezioso ❤️ refers to a dog being held by a woman in an Instagram Reel posted by Instagram user @franciniscocker in 2023. "Fagottino prezioso" is an Italian expression, roughly translating in English to "precious baby." The Fagottino Prezioso meme spread on Twitter / X in 2023 and 2024, as many English-speaking users thought the word sounded like the F-slur, in turn, joking about, "You can’t call him that."

On November 1st, 2023, Instagram[1] user @franciniscocker posted a Reel showing a Cocker Spaniel puppy being held by a woman, receiving over 7.7 million views and 467,900 likes in six months (shown below). The original caption on the video read, "Fagottino prezioso ❤️." It was later changed to read, "Il mio cucciolino prezioso ❤️."

On November 18th, 2023, X[2] user @pastoralcomical tweeted a screenshot of the Reel, showing the original caption. The X user wrote, "you can’t call him that …" gaining over 153,000 likes in six months (shown below, left).

Also on November 18th, X[3] user @tybuddhaboy replied to @pastoralcomical, writing, "that was my nickname in high school….." receiving over 4,000 likes in six months (shown below, right).

On November 21st, 2023, Instagram[4] user @kiss.my.asthma reposted @pastoralcomical's tweet,[2] receiving over 10,600 likes in six months.

On April 20th, 2024, X[5] user @DymeArachnyd tweeted the Fagottino Prezioso ❤️ screenshot, writing, "why is she holding a spud," receiving over 18,000 likes in a month (shown below, left).

On May 21st, X[6] user @nicolas_px posted fan art of Fagottino Prezioso ❤️, earning over 12,000 likes in a day (shown below, right).
