Eyeless Phineas

Eyeless Phineas is a series of fan art which depict Phineas without his eyes. The fad originated from the episode “Excaliferb” where due to an error, Phineas’s eyes disappear for a few moments when he blinked.

Origin

In the episode "Excaliferb"^[6] which aired on January 15th, 2012 in Disney Channel, there is a scene where the main protagonist Phineas was talking about the unearthly realm. As the scene plays out, an animation error occurred when Phineas blinked which causes his eyes to disappear.

Spread

On January 25th, 2012, Tumblr user Dorito Kids and Platypeople uploaded one of the first drawings of Eyeless Phineas^[1] (Shown in the left). The user later uploaded a follow up drawing on January 28th, 2012^[2] (Shown in ther right).

On February 24th, 2012, Deviantart user FlytrapDog uploaded a comic about the fad (shown below left). As of April, 2015, the comic has gathered more than 10.000 views, 229 favorites and 81 comments^[4]. On February 25th, 2012, Deviantart user uploaded a sketch of various Phineas and Ferb Characters, among them being Eyeless Phineas^[5] (Shown below right). On Tvtropes, the fad was added into the list of Phineas and Ferb memes article^[3].
