"Everywhere I Go, I See His Face" refers to a memorable scene from 2019 film Spider-Man: Far From Home in which character Peter Parker (Spider-Man) reminisces about character Tony Stark (Iron-Man) upon looking at his graffiti. Following the release of the trailer for the film, the scene gained popularity as an exploitable, both as an image and video format, with the Iron Man graffiti replaced with other imagery.

Origin

On May 6th, 2019, a trailer for 2019 Marvel superhero film Spider-Man: Far From Home was released.[1] In one scene of the trailer, character Peter Parker (Spider-Man), portrayed by Tom Holland, looks upon a graffiti of Iron Man and reminisces about him.

Everywhere I go, I see his face. I just really miss him.

Starting on the same day, the scene has been used as an exploitable both in video edits on Instagram and image posts on Reddit. On Instagram, user whereisagam uploaded the first known edit of the scene, with the post gaining over 1,600 likes in three days (shown below, left).[2] Within one hour, user notsohel uploaded another version of the meme, with the post gaining over 35,900 views and 6,600 likes in the same period (shown below, right).[3] Additionally, users whereisagam,[4] notsohel[5] and amoistnapkin[6] provided templates for their videos.

On the same day, Redditor theprince_627 made the earliest known image meme based on the scene, with the post gaining over 9,600 upvotes in three days (shown below).[6]

In the following days, the format saw significant spread on both Instagram and Reddit, with notable video edits created by users bearboob,[7] elmemxicano[8] and labrynth.mp4.[9]
