Everything Shower is an internet slang term referring to a long shower where a person, usually a woman, does "everything" regarding their personal hygiene that they may not do during a typical shower, including shaving, washing their face and hair, etc. The term became popularized on TikTok throughout 2022 and early 2023, although has been used since as early as 2017. Everything showers are often described online as being either relaxing or stressful.

Origin

"Everything shower" was first defined on Urban Dictionary^[1] on March 10th, 2017 by Cocoa Morgan, writing, "A long shower where you take care of all personal hygiene, such as shaving body parts, washing hair, and washing face," gaining over 30 upvotes in six years.

Spread

The term became popular on TikTok throughout 2022 as users discussed their everything shower routines. For example, on February 4th, 2022, TikToker^[2] @skincarebesti posted her everything shower products, garnering over 528,000 views in a year (shown below, left). On March 2nd, Truly Beauty^[3] published an article about everything showers. On December 29th, TikToker^[4] @liluzii.v3rt posted a skit about herself getting ready to take an everything shower, garnering over 6.9 million views in a month (shown below, right).

On January 1st, 2023, TikToker^[5] @kidds_dad posted a video where he describes how he recently learned about everything showers and showcases some products he got for his girlfriend for her next everything shower, garnering over 3 million views in three weeks (shown below). On January 11th, Mind Body Green^[6] published an article about everything showers.
