@everyone Please DO NOT Announce To The Server When You Are Going To Go Masturbate is a Discord message originally from a disgruntled Discord mod who asked everyone in their server of "mostly male strangers" to stop with the recurring announcements from them as to when they were going to pleasure themselves. The announcement turned into a copypasta across Twitter and Reddit in early 2022 and became the subject of many voiceover videos on YouTube and TikTok, inspired by a Cameo from Hard Rock Nick.

Origin

On February 11th, 2022, Redditor -Pelvis- posted the announcement message as a copypasta to the /r/copypasta^[1] subreddit. They did not know which Discord server it was first written on, however, they cited a screenshot of the message that was shared on the Official Mordhau Discord server on February 11th, 2022 (shown below). Within the comment section of the post, Redditor^[2] Icy-Panda-1052 posted a comment that stated the original announcement message had been sent in a Roblox group server they'd been a part of since 2018 (this claim is confirmed).

It's also noteworthy that the message was first shared as a copypasta on February 7th, 2022, to /r/CopyPastas^[3] by Redditor Mikehunt_lmaO, earning over 100 upvotes in three months.

Spread

On February 11th, 2022, the screenshot was first shared to iFunny by iFunnyer^[4] ThatCreepyWeirdo, who earned 26 smiles in three months. Also on February 11th, 2022, the screenshot was tweeted by Twitter^[5] user SK_Nabbit who earned roughly 3,300 likes in three months.

Sometime in late February 2022, a member of the original Discord server where the message was sent paid internet personality Hard Rock Nick for a Cameo of him reading it. On February 26th, 2022, the Cameo was uploaded to YouTube by the channel Yeet Dab, receiving roughly 41,100 views over the course of three months (shown below).

Please DO NOT announce to the server when you are going to go masturbate. This has been a reoccurring issue, and I'm not sure why some people have such under developed social skills that they think that a server full of mostly male strangers would need to know that. No one is going to be impressed and give you a high five (especially considering where that hand has been). I don't want to add this to the rules, since it would be embarrassing for new users to see that we have a problem with this, but it is going to be enforced as a rule from now on.

If it occurs, you will be warned, then additional occurrences will be dealt with at the discretion of modstaff. Thanks.

Going into the coming months, the copypasta and Hard Rock Nick's Cameo started to be used by meme creators, as well as used in many Discord servers as an ongoing joke. For instance, on April 9th, 2022, YouTuber ali, kirb posted a voiceover video with a 3D emoji that was originally posted in a Discord^[7] server on March 22nd, 2022. The April 2022 YouTube upload of their original video gained roughly 6,300 views in eight months (shown below). On April 6th, 2022, TikToker^[6] brandondanh posted another voiceover video, earning roughly 1.4 million plays and 316,600 likes in one month (since deleted).
