"Everybody Is Stupid Except Me is a memorable quote uttered by Homer Simpson on the American animated comedy The Simpsons. Online, a screenshot of the character saying the line has been used as a reaction image-macro to express self satisfaction.

Origin

On October 8th, 1992, Fox aired the season four episode of The Simpsons "Homer the Heretic."[1] In the episode, Homer (voiced by Dan Castellaneta) refuses to go to church and instead spends the morning lounging along. While lying on the couch smoking a cigar, he says, "Boy, everyone is stupid except me" (shown below).

The earliest known use of the quote being used as an image macro was posted by an anonymous Joy Reactor[2] user on March 30th, 2010 (shown below, left).

Two years later, on March 19th, 2012, Redditor [3] mdrimmer posted the screen capture in the thread "How I feel when a post I thought was funny gets downvoted." The post received more than 900 points (88% upvoted) in seven years.

On March 10th, 2019, Redditor[4] FabulousCornflake used the screenshot as the punchline to a joke conversation with one's mother. The post received more than 15,000 points (98% upvoted) and 75 comments (shown below, right).
