Super Mario Titans is a rumored leak of an upcoming 3D platforming Super Mario Bros. video game titled Super Mario Titans, which purportedly involves a gameplay mechanic with power suits. Purported screenshots of the game were posted to Reddit by user Obvious_Law_8544 on March 2nd, 2026, and reshared by X / Twitter user @4iiEiie3304 that day after the Reddit post was deleted. The post went viral and inspired reactions online over the following days.

Many believed that the screenshots were AI-generated or otherwise faked. Amid its virality, numerous X users reacted with posts mourning the days when people took the time to fake video game leaks rather than use AI.

On March 2nd, 2026, Redditor Obvious_Law_8544 posted a series of purportedly leaked screenshots of an upcoming Super Mario Bros. game titled Super Mario Titans to the /r/SuperMarioOdyssey[1] subreddit. The post gained over 60 comments and no upvotes before it was removed by "Reddit's filters."

Later that day, X[2] account @4iiEiie3304, display name "Nintendo Updates," reposted the images. The post reads, "so supposedly the next 3D Mario is called Super Mario Titans and its open world? All from Reddit btw… post was removed." The screenshots include images of Mario and Bowser in power suits, a title screen, and several images of giant monsters. The post gained over 2,500 likes and 3.7 million views in three days.

Online Reactions

The screenshots were largely thought to be AI-generated by various X / Twitter users as they spread in early March 2026. These inspired posts where users mourn the days when people put more effort into fake video game leaks, rather than using AI.

On March 4th, 2026, X[3] user @SB2749 posted, "dude this new age of gaming ''leaks'' sucks so bad," garnering over 16,000 likes in a day.

Later that day, X[4] user @KirboP73024 posted images of older fake leaks, writing, "Remember when people actually made and put effort into their fake leaks?" garnering over 5,100 likes in a day.



On March 5th, 2026, Redditor Chompsky___Honk made a post on the /r/SuperMario[5] subreddit sharing their evidence that the screenshots are genuine and not AI-generated, gaining over 80 upvotes and 130 comments in about 10 hours.

In the post, they shared screenshots pointing out the level of consistency between the images, the lack of "AI artifacts" in the title text, a watermark, and more.
