Overview

Ramsay Reacts refers to TikTok promotional duets by chef Gordon Ramsay famous for his harsh criticisms. The promotional campaign, which began in late July 2020, challenged TikTokers to use the #RamsayReacts hashtag in cooking videos to get the chance of being reviewed by the chef.

Background

On July 29th, 2020, Gordon Ramsay uploaded a TikTok video introducing the hashtag #RamsayReacts captioned, "You’ve seen me roast dishes, but have you seen me Duet with them?? Use #RamsayReacts to see my reaction to your dish!" In the video, Ramsay references Where's the Lamb Sauce and gained over 356,700 likes in 10 days (shown below).

Developments

On August 5th, 2020, Gordon Ramsay began posting duets with those that included the hashtag in their video posts. That day, Ramsay reviewed TikToker grandadjoe1933's bread pudding video and received over 671,500 likes in two days (shown below, left). The next day, He posted two more videos critiquing both elburritomonster's and colincreates's videos (shown below). The duets accumulated over 433,300 likes and 1.2 million likes respectively in a day. The hashtag acquired over 1.9 billion views on TikTok^[1] in 10 days.
