Overview

PewDiePie and Marzia Bisognin's Wedding refers to a wedding ceremony between YouTubers Felix Kjellberg and Marzia Bisognin that took place in late August 2019. Prior to their marriage, the pair were long-term partners for eight years.

Background

On April 27th, 2018, Bisognin posted a photograph to Instagram in which she can be seen wearing an engagement ring, along with the message "Felix proposed!!" (shown below). Over the next 16 months, the post received more than 1.13 million likes.

On March 3rd, 2019, a video titled "QnA with future Wifey" was uploaded to the PewDiePie YouTube channel, in which Kjellberg and Bisognin discuss their future wedding plans (shown below).

Wedding

On August 19th, Kjellberg and Bisognin were married. The following day, Kjellberg tweeted[1] out several photographs from the wedding, along with a message proclaiming that he is "the happiest" he can be (shown below). Within two hours, the tweet gained over 439,000 likes and 126,000 retweets.

Meanwhile, Bisognin posted additional photographs on her @itsmarziapie Instagram feed, revealing that the wedding took place "exactly 8 years" since she met Kjellberg (shown below). Within one hour, the post garnered upwards of 796,000 likes.

Online Reactions

Also on August 20th, 2019, the official @Sweden.se[6] Twitter account tweeted "Stort grattis!" ("many congratulations" in English) to Kjellberg's wedding photos tweet. Meanwhile, Redditor sloth_on_meth stickied Kjellberg's wedding photos in a post titled "Congratulations Felix & Marzia" to /r/PewDiePieSubmissions.[5] That same day, Redditor Arya_13 submitted a post to /r/dankmemes[7] titled "He is married now," featuring one of the wedding photographs followed by a picture of the character Michael Scott from The Office labeled "the meme community" (shown below). Within four hours, the post gathered upwards of 31,900 points (90% upvoted) and 500 comments.
