Overview

The Petition to Remove David Baszucki as Roblox CEO refers to an August 2025 Change.org petition to make the CEO of Roblox Corporation, David Baszucki, resign. The movement for Baszucki's removal was sparked by the Roblox Suing Schlep Situation, involving an alleged cease and desist letter that YouTuber Schlep received from the Roblox Corporation regarding his content about catching and exposing alleged child predators in Roblox. Backlash aimed at the Roblox Corporation spread on social media sites like Twitter / X, Reddit and TikTok regarding the alleged lawsuit, leading to calls for Baszucki's resignation as dissidents believed that his leadership was enabling and defending child predators on Roblox.

Background

David Baszucki is the co-founder and CEO of Roblox Corporation, which created the video game Roblox. Baszucki has been at the company since 2005.[2]

By 2024, Roblox averaged 80 million players per day with roughly 40% of them under the age of 13.[3] Since 2018, police in the U.S. have arrested more than 24 people accused of abducting or abusing victims they've met or groomed using Roblox.[4]

Baszucki discussed the safety concerns of parents in March 2025, saying, "My first message would be, if you're not comfortable, don't let your kids be on Roblox."[3] The quote sparked discussions among Redditors in the /r/unitedkingdom[5] subreddit on March 13th, 2025.

On August 9th, 2025, YouTuber Schlep shared a post on his X[6] account, @RealSchlep, showing a screenshot of an email he purportedly received from Roblox Corporation that was a cease and desist letter. Schlep wrote, "Every account I've ever made on Roblox has been terminated, and Roblox sent a cease and desist letter to me. Not a single Roblox predator I've gotten arrested has faced any action similar to this. I have no words." Over two days, the tweet received over 2.1 million views and 20,000 likes (shown below).

That same day, Schlep posted another tweet,[7] attaching two screenshots of the alleged cease and desist letter from Roblox, gaining over 8,800 likes in two days (shown below).

Also on August 9th, 2025, Schlep posted a video to YouTube[8] about the situation, titled "Roblox Is Threatening to Sue Me For Protecting Kids," amassing over 1.1 million views in two days (shown below).

On August 10th, a user named MrMhGaming created a petition on Change.org[1] called "Remove David Baszucki." The petition's "Issue" read, "The children of Roblox are at stake of what the CEO is allowing. They are allowing predators to groom children. This needs to change. Children are at stake here. If it stays this way for much longer children will continue getting groomed and possibly put into trafficking rings. If we can change this we can help save children on Roblox."

On that same day, X[9] user @CupidMissy tweeted the link to the petition, gaining over 3,700 likes in three days (shown below).

By August 13th, 2025, the Change.org petition had received over 30,000 verified signatures.

Alleged Arkansas State Police Comment

On August 10th, 2025, multiple tweets[15][16][17] spread a screenshot of a comment purportedly left by the Arkansas State Police on the "Remove David Baszucki" Change.org petition, which read, "On behalf of the Arkansas State Police, we respectfully submit this statement to formally urge Mr. David Baszucki to step down from his position at Roblox Corporation."

The original tweets were given Community Notes, [16] which alleged that an X user named @ImYoofy fabricated the comment.

The original tweets have been deleted, but X[17] user @samulige1, who shared a post with the comment screenshot on August 12th, 2025, still has their tweet up as of writing. Their post gained over 4,400 likes in a day (shown below).
