Overview
Octillery Game Freak Leaks, also known as Octillery Lore Leak Story, refers to a notable story uncovered in the 2024 Game Freak Pokémon Gigaleak in which the Pokémon Octillery, an octopus-shaped Pokémon, had sexual relations with a man and bore him a son. The story about a human-Pokemon hybrid was one of several that drew commentary, memes and jokes due to the graphic, non-canonical lore for Pokémon uncovered in the leaks, along with stories regarding Typhloshion and Slaking in mid-October 2024.
Background
On October 12th, 2024, a massive amount of confidential data from Game Freak, the company that makes the Pokémon franchise of video games, leaked online. The data included unused lore ideas for Pokémon, including several folktale-like stories about humans coexisting with Pokémon. In one such story, a man has sexual relations with an Octillery, who bears him a son.
On October 13th, X / Twitter[1] user @LookAtMyMeat1 posted the leaked story about the Pokemon Octillery commenting, "This leak is hilarious," and receiving over 6.6 million views, 57,000 likes, 6,800 retweets and 1,000 replies in a day.
Developments
The story, along with the Typhlosion and Slaking stories, quickly went viral in mid-October 2024 as it drew jokes about the interspecies relationships Game Freak had apparently once drafted as part of the games' lore.
For example, on October 13th, 2024, Twitter[2] user @PresiAlexander posted fan art of Octillery joking about making "Poképhilia" canon, gaining over 780 retweets and 5,700 likes in one day.
On the same day, Twitter user @Richard06131064[3] posted fan art of Octillery presenting the child, gaining over 190 retweets and 1,700 likes in one day.
Also on October 13th, 2024, Twitter user @JazzyFuture[4] posted a joke using a clip from The Boys and The Deep Back on the Team meme to poke fun at "The intern who likes Octillery," gaining over 2,200 retweets and 22,000 likes in the same time frame.
