Overview

MrBeast's Live In A Jet For 100 Days Challenge refers to a viral challenge promoted by YouTuber MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson) that will be released in early 2025 via a YouTube video. Announced in late December 2024, the challenge invites two aviation school graduates to live inside a private jet by themselves for 100 days, providing them with anything they ask for, including unlimited fuel for their planes to travel. If they complete the trial, they will win the jets, which are Dassault Aviation Hawker 2000. The challenge quickly sparked debates and memes in late 2024 and early 2025 about the pilot's safety and the feasibility of the jets flying 100 days non-stop, with many being confused about the rules and restrictions of the challenge.

Background

The Live In A Jet For 100 Days Challenge was announced by MrBeast while speaking to athlete Noah Lyles in a podcast interview on December 30th, 2024, during which he said he'd be purchasing two private jets and presenting them to the participants, and if they remain inside the aircraft for 100 days, they win them as a prize. That day, X[1] user @FearedBuck posted a video in which MrBeast explained the challenge (seen below), which garnered more than 6 million views and 35,000 likes in three days.

MrBeast's Response

After facing backlash online for his upcoming challenge since many were confused about the setup and rules for the challenge, MrBeast[2] replied to a viral tweet on December 31st, 2024, from Dexerto writing that the pilots don't need to fly during the 100-day trial, stating that "flying is a choice!" The post (seen below) amassed more than 2.8 million views and 49,000 likes in a day.

Online Reactions

MrBeast's Live in a Jet for 100 Days challenge received numerous negative comments and reactions across social media, which compared eco-friendly and humanitarian challenges previously promoted by the YouTuber to what was perceived as a wasteful stunt.

For instance, on December 31st, 2024, X[3] user @M1das_OW2 wrote, "Remember when mr beast did stuff like team trees and team seas where he tried helping the planet instead of literally burning jet fuel for 100 days straight for content." The tweet (seen below) gained more than 2 million views and 112,000 likes in three days.

On the same day, X[4] user and webcomic artist Fallenchungus posted a reaction image as a reply to MrBeast's challenge from Dexerto's tweet, writing, "what does that mean.. what do you mean 'if they make it.'" The post (seen below) amassed over 3.8 million views and 161,000 likes in three days.
