Overview

Fousey's Permanent Kick Ban or Fousey Permanently Banned From Kick refers to controversial internet personality and streamer Yousef Fousey Erakat receiving a permanent ban from the Kick streaming platform in early November 2024. Fousey's perma ban occurred due to a distressing incident in which he threatened to harm himself during a livestream, which fueled significant backlash and sparked widespread reactions across social media platforms in the following days. The permanent ban notably followed a temporary ban after Fousey got into a physical fight with his manager during another stream just a few days before.

Background

On October 29th, 2024, during a livestream, Yousef "Fousey" Erakat verbally attacked his content manager after the two had a dispute over his camera not being fully charged, demanding that he leave his home. Upon the two yelling curses at each other, Fousey then approached the man and punched him in the head (seen below). Shortly after, Fousey was then temporarily banned from Kick.[7]

On November 3rd, 2024, Fousey returned to stream following his temp ban and was then permanently banned from Kick shortly after launching his planned 30-day continuous livestream, which faced several technical problems that triggered an emotional outburst from the creator.

That same day, the X / Twitter page ViralLiveClips[1] posted a clip of the moment Fousey made concerning statements about harming himself, which amassed more than 436,000 views and 950 likes in a day (shown below).

Developments

Kick's Statement

On November 3rd, 2024, Kick CEO Eddie replied[2] to a text message sent by streamer Sam Pepper about Fousey's ban from the platform, writing, "No more Fousey, man. This isn’t good for anyone." X[3] user @scubaryan_ shared a clip of Sam's stream (seen below) showing the moment the Kick CEO talked about the ban, amassing more than 642,000 views and 4,400 likes in a day.

Fousey's Response

After the streamer was permanently banned from Kick, he posted a statement on his X[4] account, writing that his emotional outburst happened after he "lost it under pressure and ended up saying things I’m not proud of. I know I take accountability for my actions, but the setup broke me." He also said he won't be back to Kick even if the ban is revoked.

His statement on November 3rd, 2024 (seen below), amassed more than 940 likes and 40 reposts in less than a day.

Online Reactions

The fallout from Fousey's permanent ban from Kick inspired numerous reactions online as news of the incident spread rapidly in early November 2024 and fans expressed their concern for the streamer's mental health.

For instance, on November 3rd, 2024, TikTok user @nizzyhypetalks[5] posted a video voicing his opinion on Fousey's "crash out," which received roughly 12,000 plays and 580 likes in a day.

Redditors also commented on the streamer's permanent ban on Kick, like Redditor starcraft2020's[6] post to the /r/LivestreamFail subreddit on November 3rd, 2024, showing a screenshot of Sam Pepper's stream, writing, "Kick Owner Eddie has confirmed Fousey will be permanently banned from KICK." The post amassed more than 2,500 upvotes and 230 comments in a day.
