Overview

Denims Twitch Bounty On Asmongold refers to a controversy in which American Twitch streamer Denims seemingly offered a reward of $30,000 for anyone willing to make streamer Asmongold "disappear." The bounty initially went viral in April 2024 and resurfaced in November of that year after Asmongold revealed during a livestream that the FBI contacted him about the incident but he chose not to pursue any action, which coincided with Central_Committee's bounty on Destiny that drew similar controversy. Denims later apologized and said it was a joke and iterated the bounty was actually meant for X / Twitter user @Grummz. Online, Asmon's bounty has been used as a joke and referenced in various memes, especially on X / Twitter and Reddit.

Background

On April 29th, 2024, during a livestream, Twitch streamer Denims said, "Listen I'll up the number, ok? $30K to anyone who'll make this dipshit disappear and make Eve's breasts bigger. You have to do both, cause then it's a win-win for me," while reacting to a clip from fellow streamer Asmongold (reupload seen below).[1]

That same day on April 29th, 2024, Asmongold then reacted to the comment and bounty from Denims during a stream and insinuated that he would be filing a police report over the matter (seen below). Denims then reportedly jumped into his chat and attempted to explain her statement, claiming that it was directed at X / Twitter user @Grummz (Mark Kern) and not Asmon, stating that the $30,000 reward was also a joke.

Responding to Denims' claims, Asmon told her during the livestream that he appreciated the explanation but that she might need to explain it to the police, Twitch or someone else as it was not his problem anymore.[1]

Developments

Asmongold FBI Contact

On November 10th, 2024, around the same timeframe that Central_Committee's bounty towards Destiny became a viral topic online, streamer Asmongold revealed that he was contacted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) concerning the $30,000 bounty offered by Denims. Asmongold also told his viewers that he decided not to pursue any legal action against the streamer.[2]

On the same day, X[3] user @Grummz then posted a screenshot of an X user's investigation on Asmongold's bounty and the Dexerto article about the FBI contact, writing that Denims apologized for the incident and said it was not meant for Asmongold, and actually towards him, stating, "Here’s the punchline to their 'jokes' : 'oops, wow, wonder why that happened?'" The tweet (seen below), amassed more than 7,100 likes and 540 reposts in a day.

Online Reactions

Denims's $30,000 bounty on Asmongold rapidly became a viral topic on the internet in late April and early May 2024 as many netizens criticized her supposed joke.

For instance, on April 30th, 2024, streamer xQc reacted to Asmon's response video[4] to the bounty (seen below), saying Denims's action was "irresponsible," which garnered over 76,000 views and 1,200 likes in eight months.

On November 10th, 2024, Asmongold[5] joked about Central_Committee's bounty on Destiny being higher than his (seen below), which received roughly 18,700 views and 210 likes in two days.
