Overview
Daisy Keech Hype House Lawsuit refers to a lawsuit filed in March by the co-founder of the Hype House, Daisy Keech, against Thomas Petrou and Chase Hudson for lack of credit in the creation of the house and unfair business dealings. The lawsuit caused widespread messages of support for Keech on Twitter and short messages of resentment from other members of the Hype House.
Background
On March 24th, 2020, Daisy Keech filed a lawsuit against Thomas Petrou and Chase Hudson.[8] On March 26th, Forbes[7] reported that Keech is "alleging that they struck deals without her, exiled her from the group and tried to position themselves as the only founders of Hype House." On March 28th, Daisy Keech uploaded a video to YouTube titled "Truth about the Hype House" (shown below). In the video she explains how Thomas Petrou and Chase Hudson slowly began to fad Keech out in Hype House plans. The video garnered over 5.6 million views and 418,000 likes in four days.
Developments
On March 29th, 2020, Twitter user an Hype House member @k0uvr[1] tweeted, "I can’t stand it when girls say that they hate being mistreated and stepped on yet steps on other girls…. dont lie" (shown below, left). The twee garnered over 13,100 likes and 900 retweets in three days. That same day, Twitter user @wtfchamb[2] tweeted, "petition to kick thomas petrou out of the hype house" (shown below, right). The tweet gained over 1,100 likes in three days.
On March 29th Twitter user @jasmine_ayyyy[3] shared screenshots of @k0uvr's leaked text conversation with Keech with the caption, "Imagine being toxic abt leaking a convo to make her look bad because she wants you to take ur shit out the washer only for you to be the toxic one @k0uvr and how is she gon be like women tearing down other women the body shame daisy #justicefordaisy" (shown below, left). Instagram user tiktokroom,[4] shared a post of a comment made by Petrou on TikTok (shown below, right). Dexerto[5] and Popbuzz[6] published articles on the controversy.
