Overview

CallMeCarson and Katerino Cheating Controversy refers to the circumstances surrounding Twitch streamers CallMeCarson and Katerino's breakup. Following cheating rumors in late March 2020, it was confirmed by CallMeCarson that Katerino had cheated on him with his friend and fellow streamer Cameron McKay better known as Fitz. In April, Katerino confirmed that she was cheating on her manager with CallMeCarson and Fitz.

Background

On March 31st, 2020, Redditor InterestingLeague posted a tweet referencing cheating that CallMeCarson had like with the caption, "Oh no" to r/CallMeCarson[1] (shown below, left). The post gained over 7,400 points in 16 days. That same day, Redditor Zionix_ commented on the same post on r/CallMeCarson[2] "I think they are saying Kate may of cheated on Carson for Fitz… which I am hoping did not happen. Carson cannot take that kind of stress right now since he has been battling with his depression!" to which CallMeCarson responded "ding ding ding we have a winner" (shown below, right).

Developments

On April 12, 2020, Keemstar, who had been following the story closely, released a rumor in a DramaAlert video that Katerino had been seeing her manager the whole time (shown below, left). The video gained over 1.3 million views and 66,000 likes in three days. On April 14th, Katerino uploaded the video "an update" explaining that the rumors were true and that she is now seeing a therapist to help her with her disassociation disorder (shown below, right), The video accumulated over 650,100 views 152,000 dislikes and 9,200 likes in a day.

On April 15th, Fitz responded to the drama on Twitter[3] by apologizing to CallMeCarson (shown below, left). The tweet gained over 73,300 likes and 4,400 retweets in a day. That same day, CallMeCarson took to Twitter[4] to post a Twitlonger[5] explaining that he was sorry for making the personal matter public (shown below, right). The tweet garnered over 105,900 likes and 8,800 retweets in a day.

Katerino Apology Video Parodies

On April 15th, 2020, Twitter users and YouTubers began posting parodies of Katerino's apology video. That day, Twitter user @TheLordVega posted the video adding Ricky Berwick walking in (shown below). The video gained over 2,900 likes and 430 retweets in a day.

That same day, YouTuber TwizzFizz uploaded "Egirl makes an apology" (shown below). The parody received over 6,800 views in a day.
