Overview

The Justaminx Drunk at Streamer Awards After-Party Situation, also known as the 2023 Streamer Awards Afterparty Controversy, refers to gossip and drama revolving around Twitch streamer Justaminx purportedly drinking too much alcohol at the 2023 Streamer Awards after-party and causing it to get shut down, costing streamer QTCinderella (who created the awards show and was hosting the private party) $50,000. QTCinderella shared the situation on Hasan Piker's podcast Fear& on March 13th, 2023. During the podcast, QTCinderella claims she's tried to help Minx with her alleged alcoholism in the past, including paying for rehab for her. She also expresses frustration because she asked Justaminx not to get drunk at the after-party. The story inspired reactions and concerns across social media, including from other streamers.

Background

Justaminx and Alcohol

Prior to the incident during the 2023 Streamer Awards in Los Angeles, Justaminx's consumption of alcohol had become a well-known topic online and the streamer has gotten drunk on Twitch several times throughout the 2000s.

On September 8th, 2021, YouTuber Justaminx VODS posted a clip of Minx drinking a bottle of vodka and crying during a livestream (shown below, left). In November of that year, a clip of Minx from an OTK stream lying on the floor as fellow streamer Malena tries to pour alcohol into her mouth started going viral. During the livestream, Esfand is telling Malena not to pour the alcohol into her mouth as she is on "medication" that she can't drink while using. Minx convinces Malena to pour the alcohol into her mouth while Esfand desperately tries to stop it from happening (shown below, right).[11]

On March 15th, 2022, YouTuber JustaStinx posted a clip of Minx purportedly drunk on stream (shown below). In March 2023, Justaminx was then notably banned from Twitch temporarily for being drunk on stream.[12]

During Amouranth's birthday party, a clip of Minx passing out went viral across social media (shown below). Minx responded to the video in a tweet[1] on February 4th, 2023, writing, "next time i'll eat before i drink tho πŸ‘."

QTCinderella's Fear& Appearance

On March 11th, 2023, the second annual Streamer Awards, hosted and created by streamer QTCinderella, took place at The Wiltern in LA. That day, Justaminx posted a photo to Twitter[13] heading to the Streamer Awards, writing, "mrs clause is enroute to streamer awards," garnering over 13,000 likes in four days (shown below).

On March 13th, an episode of the Fear& podcast, hosted by Hasan Piker and Will Neff, was uploaded to YouTube[2] (shown below). The episode features QTCinderella, Valkyrae and Austin Show as guests. Around the 34:27-minute mark, QTCinderella discusses her "lowlight" of the event, saying that Justaminx attended the after-party, got kicked out and "got the party shut down." She says she has "personally done everything in [her[ ability to help [Minx]," referring to helping her with her perceived drinking problem. She also mentions that she helped Minx pay for rehab in the past.

QTCinderella goes on to say she's been separating herself from Minx for around a year but got a text from Minx prior to the Streamer Awards. QTCinderella told her she could sit with the other streamers at the show but made her promise that she wouldn't drink. QTCinderella claims she got to the after-party and Minx was wasted and getting kicked out for trying to throw propane heaters into the pool. Valkyrae then interjects and says she heard that Minx was trying to throw streamer Sykkuno in the pool. QTCinderella claims that as security was escorting Minx out, she went limp to make it more difficult.

QTCinderella claims that they were trying to decide whether to send her an Uber to go home or to the emergency room. Security then informed QTCinderella that they should shut the party down because neighbors were starting to come out, as Minx was "causing a scene" in the front yard. QTCinderella says the party was shut down around 11 p.m. PST and cost her "thousands and thousands of dollars." Reportedly, the party cost around $50,000.[6] QTCinderella says that she blocked Minx on Twitter and every other platform and that she's not interested in being in contact with her. Hasan then claims that he left the party before the incident.

The clip from Fear& was shared on Twitter[3] by @TINAMlCASITA that day, garnering over 23,000 likes in two days.

Justaminx Claims She Had an Epileptic Seizure

On March 13th, 2023, after the Fear& podcast episode was released, Justaminx tweeted from her @MinxMore Twitter[4] account, writing, "that was 100 percent the worst seizure i've had since i was 15 I still am struggle regaining memory from even yesterday," seemingly referring to going limp at the after-party. Another user commented, "I hope youre ok but you still did get drunk after you promised people you wouldnt and that couldnt have helped," to which Minx responded, "i assumed getting drunk at the after party would be fine… clearly it was not" (shown below).

Later that day, Dexerto[5] reported on a now-deleted series of tweets between Minx and QTCinderella under the comment where QT tells minx to "fuck [herself]" and accuses her of making up the claim that she had a seizure (shown below, left and right).

Later that day, Minx tweeted[7] photographs of herself at the hospital, writing, "for the people commenting that i'm making up my epilepsy for an excuse, I can guarantee that I had a seizure when I was pushed over i slept all day yesterday when I got home from the hospital its obviously not an excuse for ruining the party but im not lying about my epilepsy," garnering over 9,200 likes in two days (shown below).

Later, she tweeted,[8] "Im not sure what I can do to make this better. I'll pay for the party cost. I understand I've broken peoples trust and I understand why people want to attack me rn but please say what I can do to fix it rather than dog pile. Im sorry," garnering over 11,600 likes in two days.

xQc's Reaction
