Background
On April 1st, 2020, various websites and online services released gag videos, products and features in honor of April Fools’ Day.
Developments
SCP
The SCP Foundation [1] changed the website’s theme to become a plant-based wiki, including their logo, color scheme and switching the acronym to “Super Cool Plants.” Some entries on the site also describe plants with photos of various flora.
4chan
4chan’s[2] prank features certain IPs becoming infected with coronavirus, which changes their posts to green and the typeface/font looks like a biohazard. Anyone who replies to these also gets infected with the virus and it spreads.
Imgur
Imgur[3] released a banana for scale button called Potassium Evaluation and Examination Logic (P.E.E.L.) that helps users identify how many bananas could fit into a post, displaying an average from other users alongside yours.
MyAnimeList
After careful consideration, MyAnimeList[4] updated their 1-10 scoring system with a new emoji-based rating system.
For 2020’s prank, Reddit’s[5] r/Imposter sub features a minigame where users answer a question, the “Imposter” (a bot) sees everyone’s answers and then comes up with its own. Users are then shown a list of answers (four from Redditors, one from the Imposter) and are tasked with identifying which one is the Imposter’s. Users can also change their answer at any time.
Several subreddits also participated in the holiday, a few include r/anime[6] having a “worst” girl tournament, r/Animemes[7] has become a cartoon subreddit, r/dogelore[8] has become an Animal Crossing subreddit, r/funny and r/gifs[9] are warning of an alien invasion, r/HistoryMemes and r/PrequelMemes[10] switched for the day.

On March 31st, Deviantart[11] banned the character "Hoofs" from the site and released an announcement about the site update.
For Honor Gets Tiny Warriors
Last year’s prank in For Honor replaced all the minions with Rabbids. In 2020, all warriors controlled by players are now shrunken with NPCs remaining normal sizes.
Overwatch Googly Eyes
Blizzard’s Overwatch added googly eyes, complete with rolling physics, to each hero in the game. The eyes are visible in-game and during the cinematic intros. Several abilities in the game also include their use.
GTA and Red Dead Redemption Snow
Both GTA Online and Red Dead Online now have snow falling across their virtual worlds. The strange weather is available for the remainder of April 1st.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Shipment Map Playlist
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has added a chaotic 10 vs. 10 team deathmatch playlist of it’s smallest map “Shipment.”
Minecraft’s Ultimate Content Update
Minecraft[12] announced on April 1st that they would be releasing “every update imaginable” by creating a “Snapshot in which every imaginable reality has become actual reality” where players can enter an unlimited number of dimensions from the launcher.
Old School Runescape Introduces Pet Ranching
In a dev blog published on April 1st, Runescape [13] announced that they’d be introducing a new skill called pet ranching, which lets players collect, train and battle their own pets.
PUBG Reveals Fantasy Battle Royale
PUBG released an announcement that they’re adding a Fantasy Battle Royale gamemode, featuring a third-person, squad-based mode that lets players select classes from fantasy-esque games.
Warframe: MoreFrame "Tenno Lifestyle Channel"
On April 1st, Warframe released a trailer for their new "totally (not) real lifestyle channel," called MoreFrame, which features Konzu, Nora Night and more.

Kim Jaejoong claimed in a now-deleted post that he was hospitalized with COVID-19, but admitted it was a on April 1st, claiming it was to raise awareness for people who are getting sick and dying.
