About

Even The Paparazzi Team Bryce On God, or We Team Bryce Out Here refers to a viral video of influencer Tana Mongeau showing her support for TikToker Bryce Hall during the "Battle of the Platforms" TikTok vs. YouTube boxing series, particularly in his fight against Austin McBroom of the Ace Family. The video went viral across social media, particularly on TikTok, where users made videos imitating Mongeau in response.

Origin

On May 18th, 2021, TikToker[1] @itsjosezarate posted a video interviewing Tana Mongeau about his upcoming boxing match against Austin McBroom. In the video, Tana says, "Fuck Austin McBroom, I'm team Bryce. I mean, you know? It's not my beef, but you know, we team Bryce out here. Even the paparazzi's team Bryce, on God." The video gained over 6.6 million views in a month (shown below).

The video spread across social media over the course of the month. Bryce Hall lost the match against Austin McBroom on June 12th of that year.

Spread

On June 2nd, 2021, Tana Mongeau posted to Twitter,[6] "even the paparazzi team bryce on god," referencing her interview, garnering over 11,000 likes and 780 retweets in just under three weeks (shown below). The next day she used the phrase in an Instagram[9] post celebrating Pride with JoJo Siwa, garnering over 600,000 likes in a comparable span of time.

TikTok

On the same day, TikToker[3] @_samueladrian_ posted a video reenacting the interview, garnering over 5.7 million views in under three weeks (shown below).

On June 3rd, TikToker[2] @maryamazeemm_ stitched the original upload similarly recreating it as accurately as possible, including Mongeau's top featuring detached sleeves (shown below). The video garnered over 6.7 million views in just under three weeks.

Over the following days, a number of TikTokers[4][5] posted recreations of the video, some lip dubbing over the original sound (examples shown below, left and right).

Following the virality of the video, use of the term "ONG" seemed to raise on TikTok, a shorthand for "on god," although the phrase does not originate from the video of Tana.[8]

Reactions On Twitter

The video also sparked reactions on Twitter. For example, on June 5th, Twitter[7] user @carlyincontro posted i’m not very smart but one thing i do know for a FACT is that even the paparazzi team bryce," garnering over 14,600 likes and 620 retweets in two weeks.

The phrase also saw use as a snowclone on Twitter, with users changing words in the phrase to alter the context. For example, on June 13th, Twitter[10] user @Seavey_Chris posted, "Stan Vinnie Hacker for clear skin deaddasss. Even the paparazzi team Vinnie on god," garnering over 3,200 likes and 240 retweets in a week.

"On God" Merch

On June 9th, Mongeau began selling merchandise featuring the quote on her FanJoy[11] store. The merch received some criticism from people deeming the meme dead, as reported by Dexerto.[12]
