Estevão Ferreira Audios refers to a series of audio messages sent by the Brazilian Estevão Ferreira that went viral in 2020 on the message application WhatsApp for its signature catchphrase "beijos de luz, Estevão Ferreira" at the end of every audio message. The audios resurfaced in 2023 on TikTok, as people began to create comedy skits and lip-dubs on the platform.

Origin

A friend of the Brazilian Estevão Ferreira, who commonly used to send audio messages in a WhatsApp group, asked Ferreira if he could share^[1] some of her audio clips on social media in early 2020. One of the first viral audios available is a story about the craziest thing Estevão did for love(English transcript below).^[2]

The craziest thing I did for love was when I broke up in 2005 with someone I loved very much. And I went to the airport and I managed to stop the plane saying that there was a drug dealer on the plane and I managed to drag the person back to me. Estevão Ferreira.

Estevão Ferreira's audio messages began to be shared on meme pages on social media in July 2020. For instance, the Instagram^[3] page @meltedvideos posted a series of screen recordings with Ferreira's audios playing in the background, garnering 20,630 likes in three years (seen below).

Ferreira's audios were also used in parody videos, like the YouTube^[4] user audiosdozapdepessimaqualid6758's upload on February 11th, 2021, showing the One Piece character White Beard in a lip-dub of Estevão Ferreira's audios. The video garnered 23,178 views and 1,100 likes in two years (see below).

On July 27th, 2020, a fan page was created on TikTok^[5] to share the best Estevão Ferreira audios. Some years later, the videos uploaded by estevaoferreiraof became viral audios on the platform in which people lip-dub the Brazilian while using an Ant-Face filter.[6]. For example, TikTok[7] userlicalopes10 posted a video with an overlay text saying "when my mom says my sister's name instead of mine" alongside Ferreira's audio correcting a fan that misspelled his name. Uploaded on March 3rd, 2023, the post (below, left), garnered 4 million plays and 700,000 likes in a day. TikTok^[8] user @kkkkkkkkkkbrunak used another audio to express her disbelief in her family after seeing many flip-flops visible in front of her, implying they probably organized a surprise party for her. The post (below, right) from February 21st, 2023 garnered 1.8 million plays and 392,000 likes in two weeks.
