Eric Tao Gesturing "No" on Industry or Ken Leung Saying "No" GIF refers to a reaction GIF featuring actor Ken Leung, who plays the character Eric Tao on the HBO show Industry, shaking his head and gesturing "no" or "stop it" with his hands in a GIF that shows him wearing a dark blue quarter zip sweater layered over a button-up shirt. The GIF comes from season 3, episode 4 of the show titled "White Mischief," in which Tao has to tell a character named Rishi to stop acting erratically in the office after a rough night out. The GIF came to be used as a reaction and GIF caption meme on sites like Twitter / X and TikTok, alongside other memes from the show, like Harper Stern on The Computer.

The Industry season 3, episode 4, titled "White Mischief," aired on September 1st, 2024, and featured a scene in which the character Eric Tao (played by Ken Leung) slices his hand through the air and shakes his head with a worried expression on his face, as if to say "no" or "cut it out."[1]
The earliest known post featuring the GIF of Eric Tao from Industry was posted to Twitter / X on September 16th, 2025, by X[2] user @dyinlevi in a quote tweet to a post that read, "Margot Robbie revealed she had Robert Pattinson posters on her wall growing up and was obsessed with Twilight." The post gathered over 6 million views and 100,000 likes in two months.

On November 10th, 2025, X[3] user @mainmajin tweeted the GIF alongside the caption, "Yuji slander?? We don’t do that here," in the quote tweets of a post about the character Yuji Itadori from Jujutsu Kaisen. The post gathered over 20,000 likes in two months.
On November 25th, X[4] user @Sinestros_Myte tweeted, "DC turning into Shonen Jump," in the quote tweets of a post showing an anime version of Absolute Wonder Woman drawing by Rachta Lin, receiving over 3,300 likes in two weeks.
On December 4th, 2025, X[5] user @KmaFr_ tweeted, "seeing 'youtube music replays' on my timeline," alongside the Eric Dao Industry GIF. The post gathered over 23,000 ikes in two days.
